AlexW :

Can anyone give me a list with like Emo bands that are a little more acoustical (not emocore) bands, that most of their songs are really deep and just kind of sad, not pop rock bands with corny lyrics. Similar to some of Straylight Run songs, and if it is a little more screamo band have it have little screaming maybe like My chemical romance’s 1st cd

sss

are you retarded?
the bands you listed aren’t emo, they’re poseur emo, all those bands post ’90’s are POSEUR bands! why don’t you do some research on subcultures and you’ll see what i mean.

here’s some info:

p.s. punk and goth isn’t what you think it is either.
so don’t be another stereotypical poseur “emo” kid.
because emo music has nothing to do with screamo or any of that bullshit, in fact the real emo died off in the 80’s

I’m guessing you already listen to Dashboard Confessional and Bright Eyes. Check out The Smiths. Their music’s not emo, but they were very influential on emo and epitomize music that’s “really deep and just kind of sad”. Not to mention The Smiths are better than any emo band.
